Gaudi (G/F Serendra)
| Last Saturday, Javster, Wander Girl and I went to Gaudi at Serendra for lunch. I honestly haven’t heard much of this resto except for it being |
![]() |

The interiors were quaint and simple, with a cabinet full of wine and sangria bottles. It was very still for a Saturday lunchtime.

Food
Starters:
Complimentary bread
Plato de Ibericos - Serrano ham, salami, chorizo and manchego cheese platter. Not bad.
Drink:
Fresh Lemon Soda. Actually tasted like regular fizzy lemon juice, nothing exceptional I should say. On hindsight I should have ordered their house sangria.
Main Course:
Paella de Cordero con Setas. This paella has the unique combination of lamb and shiitake mushrooms. I loved it – the lamb meat was tender and did not taste funky at all. ![]()
The real main event was the 0.97 kg Chuleton Villagodio — Certified Angus Beef prime rib grilled according to the methods of Villagodio.
The juicy beef is sprinkled with rock salt and then cooked on a plate on a tabletop heating device.
Really really tasty!
Sides:
Didn’t touch these much.. was too preoccupied with conversation and with my paella ![]()

Dessert:
We had the Detodunpoco dessert sampler, which was not very memorable. Out of the 6 or so items, there was no standout — everything was just so-so. A big letdown especially for the price. Not a very good dessert moment. Hehe.
Price – expensive, but I’d say that the paella and the beef were certainly worth their hefty tags.
The service was becoming of a relatively higher-end dining establishment. The waiters were knowledgeable of the menu items, and were unobtrusively attentive in table service. I liked their self-directed serving of paella on our plates when we’re done with our initial fill.

My verdict – Good food + good ambiance + good company = good
times
. With the exception of the disappointingly ho-hum dessert sampler, I’d highly recommend Gaudi to those who have discriminating global
palates. Not for your everyday eat-and-run meal nor for heavy munchers.
