question of the week – 07.08.08
Internet or TV?
If you were to live with only one of the two media heavyweights that have reached staple status on most homes, what would it be and why?
I found that I have gotten used to having both. Can’t imagine how I’d get by without either one.
I do really like a couple of TV shows — especially those on Discovery Travel and Living, AXN, and a few select programs on all other channels. While I don’t consider my viewership of such as indispensables (I get through most of my week without any TV at all), I can’t deny the fact that I do look forward to weekends at home in Manila partially because of these shows on cable. Watching them gets me to actually slow down and unwind. Don’t really care what they say about TV not being good for the brain — I think it definitely won’t do wonders to the absolutely dull, but I don’t feel it’s detrimental for me. ![]()
The internet, on the other hand, is a key necessity of a tool at my work. How can I get stuff done without email? I feel invisible to the world when I’m not online at instant messaging, and I can’t imagine how a whole industry backed by the web could survive even just a few hours of total downtime. On a personal level, I have this blog.. I have my social networks.. and all the sites I visit on a regular basis (see related posts here and here). I have most of my friends on YM, and I get my regular fix of news and information online as well.
To that, I say — the net is the more indispensable one for me. Nonetheless, and fortunately, I can have them both anyway hehe.
How about you? What is your pick? ![]()

almost everything good on tv can be watched on the internet anyway. minsan nga mga tv shows sa youtube pa kumukuha ng material. or minsan delayed sa local TV like behind sa episodes, or sa sobrang dami ng commercials hindi na live yung live coverage

A while back, we had brunch at the nearby branch of Heaven ‘n Eggs here in Eastwood. Heaven ‘n Eggs is the comfort / breakfast food restaurant of the Red Crab chain, and has been a personal favorite of mine for quite some time now.
