Petra & Pilar (G/F Jaka Center, Makati)

26 November 2008 One Comment

We had lunch at Petra & Pilar right after filing my application for UK visa about 2 weeks ago. Here’s what we had at this famous high-style carinderia.

The daily specials

Bangus ala Pobre (P110)

Pork Sisig (P180) — perfect with piping hot steamed rice!

Roast Rack of Lamb (P250). The yummiest lamb I’ve tasted in a carinderia LOL. Loved it.

Their house specialty — Beef Mushroom Kalitiran (P150).

my lunchmates — long-haired Charlie

and Wander Girl

Buko Pandan (P60) for dessert

the Delimondo store (which doesn’t accept credit cards haha)

Setting: Cafeteria style; like a dining hall where you serve yourself and pay a cashier

Service
: Keeps with the carinderia theme — mostly self-service.

Price
: Dirt cheap for this quality of food. We just spent about P350 each.

Overall Verdict
: A very good restaurant concept. Forget the service and ambiance, this is great lunch food at reasonable prices. Perfect for the office worker crowd.

My favorite in Petra & Pilar is their Beef Mushroom Kalitiran and the San Moreno cake. :-)
