clutter consciousness
One thing that I absolutely get sick of and sucks the life out of me yet I keep building up on is clutter. I’m an absolute clutter magnet. Clutter in the house, clutter in the car, clutter at the work desk. There’s unsightly clutter everywhere in my life. And I have just come to terms with my predisposition towards accumulating it.
I guess it is because I have always held on to things I owned — old gadgets never get sold, old clothes get stacked up and not given out, and tons and tons of back-issue magazines just pile up after being read. I look around me and what do I see — product boxes, empty supplement bottles, coins scattered everywhere, printed documents, list goes on. It is exhausting just to be around all this junk!
Historically, I would have bursts of “I’ve had it” moments when I’d drive out everything I’ve been holding on to, and thus far I have not regretted doing so. There had been little to no instances where I critically needed something I’ve already thrown out from these crusades.
As I get ready to move into my new place, I need to consciously imbibe clutter consciousness to my everyday life — as the one-time big-times may not be able to sustain my sanity.

Here’s a helpful article I found online about the subject:
Clear Your Clutter and Revitalize Your Life
by Melinda Allec
Did you know that the word “clutter” derives from the Middle English word “clotter”, which means to coagulate? That puts a whole new light on things doesn’t it! You can’t get much more stuck than that.
Clutter is a mirrored reflection of what’s happening with you in your consciousness and life experience. It starts as a symptom, but then becomes part of the problem as the clutter itself attracts more stagnant energy to itself. The more the clutter grows the more the stagnant energy grows.
As you clear out your clutter your external landscape changes as does your internal landscape. We surround ourselves with mirrors of our inner selves. Sometimes, this is done unconsciously and the mere realization and shift in awareness will create brand new opportunities for change.
Go through your home and clear out what no longer reflects who you are. Get rid of it if:
* You don’t use it
* You don’t love it
* It doesn’t fit
* It’s unfinished
* It’s broken
* You’re holding on to it “just in case”
As you make the decision of letting some “thing” go and then release it, you are literally calling back and re-claiming your own life force energy. The precious energy of your spirit has been attached to the memories and emotional needs associated with those “things”.
Holding on to “stuff” is an external reflection of a inner belief that there’s not enough for you or you won’t get what you need. If you have trouble letting go of something, practice the temporal tapping affirming “As I Allow my Light to shine all of my needs are taken care of. I am fully supported.”
When you come across something that you cannot decide what to do with , put it in a box and store it deep in the closet. Make a note on your calendar to check the box at a future time. When you check the box, see if you can remember what’s in it. If you can’t, it’s obvious to chuck it!
Releasing the congestion that prevents us from recognizing and connecting with our higher selves and God is the higher purpose of clearing clutter. One good clear is all it will take to make a believer out of you. Go ahead, clear your clutter and have a direct experience!

Melinda’s article is insightful, and I especially like her criteria for getting rid of stuff. I think de-cluttering should be a regular, scheduled activity though, because we really accummulate so many things along the way (whether consciously or unconsciously). The last bullet – “just in case” is applicable to me, too, as well as “waiting for the perfect moment to use it”
