Nash and Sean at my parents’ house
Over the weekend, my two puppies Nash and Sean bonded with folks at my parents’ house in Manila.

Nash is bold and friendly, while Sean is bashful and timid as ever.

My mom absolutely adore Nash. He’s starting to grow on my dad as well!

Earlier today, Nash ate two nibbles of pomelo fruit. Yesterday, he gobbled up two pieces of seedless red globe grapes. The grape-eating was a funny sight to behold — as he looked like lechon (roast pig) with an apple in the mouth.

I noticed that Sean does not like to be looked at in the eye. He looks away everytime anybody does that.

They both love the Royal Canin shih tzu formula dog food — which was Nash’s original brand before I tried others (Orijen, Pedigree, Alpo) before reverting.

Sean has been shrieking less frequently lately (he used to do that a LOT — as in every time he has contact with anybody). I think he is a pup with special needs.

There are times that I just want to throw my hands up in the air with Sean and his OA ways, but I guess I just have to continue displacing the stress in caring for him elsewhere.

Which does not go to say that Nash does not bring me any stress as well — in fact he still does so every time he pees on the doormat or tramples his poop. ![]()

baka your dog has trauma from before you got it. did you get it from a pet shop? if so, chances are, it was not born in the best of conditions and maybe had not been able to socialize well with the littermates kaya bashful. puppy should normally be energetic and curious, it too early for your puppy to shrink back there must be something wrong. you should also have it check by vet… my 2 cents

Hi Ryan thanks for stopping by. Yeah I think Sean has some form of doggie trauma and I do find it quite abnormal.. actually I got him from the same breeder’s shop in Tiendesitas where I got Nash (the un-shy one). Vet has checked him and no problems health-wise. I think it’s just a matter of time before he becomes active (I hope).

ya make every encounter you have with him a positive one, like always give him treats, pet him, or feed him… all other times, leave him be so he can discover the world all by himself… maybe that should do it…

Hey Allan, I really love your site. I think I’ve read almost all of your food reviews.
Anyway, my gf’s shih tzu used to eat grapes and would just play with it for the longest time before actually eating it. One day, her dog started having difficulty peeing. When I researched about it, I found out that grapes, along with chocolates, are dangerous to dogs because their livers can’t process the grapes well. Try googling it too just to be sure. I think your dogs are really adorable and I wouldn’t want anything bad to happen to them.

Hi Vinci! Thanks so much for the tip – I have since googled it up and you’re right.. now Nash and Sean won’t be getting any grapes from me from now on.
Appreciate your compliment and readership of the site as well.. hope to see more of you here. Take care!
